The PTA would like to welcome all of our new students, parents and staff to Mason. For those of you returning, we hope you had a great break and it will be good to see you again. Because the lion is our mascot, we would like everyone to take PRIDE in our school, so we thought we would make that the theme for this year. We have a lot of great things planned for this year, both new and expected. We hope to provide events for not only our students, but parents and the community too. But most of all, we would like to encourage everyone to join the PTA.
Membership in the PTA sends the signal to your child, the school district and legislators that education is important; further supporting the fact that students whose parents are involved in their education do better in school. Getting involved in the PTA can take on many forms. The most important is that of just joining. If you would like to volunteer, we have opportunities where you can donate an hour of your time or volunteer to help out with a fundraising event or Board position. Your involvement, at whatever level, is much appreciated. I look forward to seeing everyone at Back-to-School night. In addition to meeting your teachers, we need your help by casting your vote to approve the PTA’s budget, bylaws and programs for the new school year. While the PTA Board helps with organization, the real authority of the PTA comes from the membership. Without your vote of approval we cannot conduct our programs to enhance the learning experience of our children. These documents can be found on our website at www.masonelementarypta.org.
