Everyone a Reader Volunteer Tutor Program Our goal is to make Everyone A Reader by third grade The San Diego County Office of Education developed this program to assist children experiencing difficulty learning to read. - Volunteers receive 3 hours of training in Reading Recovery strategies
- Volunteers tutor one day a week for one hour.
- Each tutor is matched with four students reading below their grade level.
- The tutor provides four, one-to-one sessions (15 minutes each) to students assigned to them. The children read books at their instructional level while the trained tutor listens and assists the child in learning new reading strategies.
