Presidents Message:
I am reminded of a quote, "The biggest gap in the world is between I should and I did" by H Jackson Brown. Well our "dids" just got bigger and we have the numbers to prove it. Our records show that we have surpassed 210 PTA members for this year. In comparison, last year we only had 174 members. I want to thank Donna Webster and all the PTA Board members who helped with the sign ups. I also want to thank our Mason teachers who joined with our principal to sign up in record numbers this year.
We have just completed two hugely successful events. The first was our Fall Fundraiser. I want to thank Kimberly Poole and the PTA Board members who helped pass out ducks and those who will help with next month’s delivery. A special thanks goes to Dawn Kaiser, Kathy Hall, Brad Brockmeyer and Josiebelle Trampe for helping with counting. Second was our International Potluck that was coordinated by Vera Savage. Vera did a great job decorating our lunch arbor for the event. I also want to thank Briana Kaminski and Kimberley Poole for cooking the spaghetti and helping coordinate the food. A big hand goes to our celebrity food judges for helping with this year’s judging: Ms. Hardson, Mr. Freese, Mrs. Joyce and Mr. Charnley. Additionally, I appreciate all those who brought a food dish to share and those who helped set up and clean up. I also need to thank Mrs. Exner and Mrs. Gronotte for doing another great job with this year’s class programs what an evening. Our next big event is our Scholastic Book Fair that will be held December 15 - 19th. This year’s chairperson will be Bethany Hetrick and if anyone is interested in helping staff the event, please let me know and I will pass your name along to her. I can be reached at

This will be a great opportunity to earn books for our classrooms. I sense a real momentum at our school to support the educational experience of our children. Not only are more people signing up with the PTA to show their support, but also people are looking for ways to contribute. I want to acknowledge the great job of Reuben Pearson III and Edgar Navarrete who have taken the steps to make a Dad’s Club happen at Mason. We are with no doubt facing some tough economic times, but with the passion and commitment of our parents and teachers, we will make sure our students get the educational experience they deserve. I would like to give thanks to all those in the Mason community who work together to make a difference and make it happen. Have a great Thanksgiving, David Keely PTA President Dad to a Mason 3rd grader & Kindergartner
