Mason Awarded $2,500 State Garden Grant Grants ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 were awarded last week to 98 schools in the San Diego Unified School District to help expand and sustain campus gardens. Campus gardens helps students learn about habitats, plants and the food chain. Students plant, weed and care for the gardens; some grow flowers, others grow vegetables. Assembly Bill 1535 that provided $15 million for the garden grants. The money is designed to provide seed money for new garden programs or enhance existing gardens. |
